There are two methods you can use to run network utilities on an OCA. You can use these utilities to gather network diagnostics for troubleshooting.

To run network utilities using the console:

  1. Connect to the console on the appliance.
  2. Using the up/down arrows and the 'Enter/Return' key on your keyboard, choose either the 'ping' (P) or the 'traceroute' (T) command option.

  3. In the window that opens, use the keyboard to enter the target IP address that you are testing.

The command will run and you can view the output in the console. For example:

  4. Take screen captures as needed, then exit back to the main menu.

To run network utilities from the Partner Portal:

    1. Choose a location in the Partner Portal to run one of the network diagnostic tests:
      • To view a list of your OCAs and run tests, click Diagnostics from the main menu, then select an OCA from the list.

      • To run tests on a single OCA, navigate to the OCA's Details page, then open the Network > Diagnostics tab.
    2. Specify which test you want to run.

    3. Specify additional parameters.

The options vary depending on the test you selected. For example: for the ping/traceroute/mtr commands, you can select from a pre-populated list of target destinations (for example, an AWS region), or you can specify a custom IP address. For the dig command, you can specify a record type.

    4. Click Submit.

The test runs. Test progress and final results are displayed in the Test Results panel. test-results.png

    5. After the test completes, you can re-run the same test or start a new one.

    6. You can also review a history of the tests that have run on the OCA, and view results or re-run the test.test-history.png
